Ao3 Summaries

Kitten Era

“Meow, Meow, merow?” comes another kitten voice. Dazai blinks and stares at Atsushi. They both blink at each other, confused. Dazai arches his back and leans against Atsushi’s head when Atsushi lets him go with a slight squint of his eyes. There is no way.“What are you doing?” is what the voice had said, and although Dazai knows Atsushi can “meow” like a cat, he only talks in gibberish. It’s never actual cat language. But this phrase was spoken in cat language. Dazai’s eyes glanced around the room immediately, his ears twitching in every direction. Who dares interrupt his fun?“Up here, dummy,” comes the voice again. Dazai’s ears perk, and he looks up at the newly occupied cell from earlier. To his surprise, two azure irises stare deadpan at him in a loaf position. All Dazai could do was blink at the other kitten with broad eyes because those eyes were the prettiest ones he’d ever seen.

City of Sand Castles

Chuuya crawls to the sliding tube tunnel and motions for Dazai to follow him. Dazai gulps, looking at the slide again, his head starting to shake ‘no’ but stops when Chuuya sits first and then tells Dazai to sit behind him with a pat on the plastic. “Come on, you can hug me if you want. We can pretend to ride a motorcycle.”“A motorcycle?”“Yeah, look. I’ll show you!”So, he does. Dazai’s curiosity outweighed his nervousness, and soon, he found himself sitting behind Chuuya and wrapping his little arms around his tummy. He wanted to use his hands to hold Claude, but he feared letting go of Chuuya, so he again put Claude in his lap, sandwiched between them.“Hold tight! Let’s start ‘er up!” Chuuya smirked back at Dazai and pretended to ignite his motorcycle, revving the engine with his little fists. The wind tunnels up the tube again, and Dazai feels like he’s riding a bike. He giggles this time, and Chuuya then asks, “You ready?”Dazai beams back and says, “Yep!” Chuuya grins and pushes forward, then they both go down the slide with big grins and cheers.

Darling, Some Things Are Meant To Be

Every night, he heard a voice singing a song in his dreams, and the lyrics changed each time they met. The young prince knew this voice was singing for him - calling to him - to find them. He's heard them many times before. The figure waits for him patiently, continuing its melody and stretching out his hand. The more the prince walked the foggy path, the more he felt he needed to know why the faceless ghost sought him relentlessly after many moons.‘What do you want from me?' he wished he could ask, taking their outstretched hand and standing before them. The silhouette brings the prince’s small frame closer into their embrace with a gentle tug, their other hand gently caressing his cheek to ease any reluctance. The prince has come to learn not to fear their presence, but he doesn't stop the subtle blush and gulp that frames his freckles. He found he could never speak before them, too enchanted by their melody and ghostly caresses to make any words.“…I’m hoping for a gentle end… Come with me? It's fate…”The prince grimaced, a knot forming in his stomach at such a thought before his dream world slowly faded away…

Temporary Bliss

After working so hard for three years, Chuuya thought he would never find himself in another maid outfit again. Still, here he was—a white ruffle headband in his copper locks and a laced off-the-shoulder crinkled crop top that exposed the peppered freckles on his skin. Around his hips was a short black frilly skirt with an ivory apron attached that stopped at the upper portion of his thighs, the material swaying with his movements, teasing the hungry stares of those who had the blessing to witness his body. The lacy sheer stockings he wore hugged the curvature of his toned legs and contrasted beautifully with the polished black heels that signaled his walk of shame with every step he took.It was so embarrassing, and honestly, way too early in the morning to deal with this shit.

On The Pier of Yokohama

If he had to describe what he was looking for, it would be a lighthouse for himself. Hence, he decided this would be the location for his final goodbye to a world that did not need him and that he felt he was not made for. He was a failed barged at sea that could not steer clear at the young age of thirteen. There was no light to follow, no captain behind his ship.He knew it would be painful to drown, to hit the stone as the waves break, thrashing his body around, and to be eaten by ocean life. He thought of a million scenarios in his head of the pain he would feel by following through with this decision and why he shouldn’t do it, but not one of those thoughts screamed at him loud enough to stop his body from inching toward the ledge. In his final moments, he recalls how the flashing storm filtered through the water in photographic snaps with a figure reaching out for him from above. He watched as the shadowy figure swam quickly against the current. It was as powerful a sight as the outside tempest: faint images of fiery red and wide, panicked blue eyes holding him close.A small smile parts his lips to reassure the other with a thank you, and the world around him suddenly falls quiet…
